Umbrella or sunglasses?

The last few days here in the Fruili-Venezia Guilia area have been extremely unsettled with heavy winds and lots of rain. 

Yesterday, my infamous and hardworking photographer had to resort to just food photos most of the day (quite a chore as you can imagine)! 

However, he was able to resume his duties today, just like a reliable postman, come rain or shine, or in this case add in thunderstorms. As I write, I hear something rumbling in the background - I'm pretty sure it's not either of our stomachs, because we have taken full advantage of the rainy breaks to fuel up as you will see from some of the pics!

We actually went into a rather infamous store a few days ago called Eataly; I think we must have caught something in the air there - or we are taking the message of the store quite literally! LOL! 

I'm kidding of course, everything in moderation but it is fun to sample goodies that we usually don't eat all the time. Good thing, eh!? Where are those chia seed bars and flaxseed breads, you may be thinking. Well, what goes on in Italy stays in Italy (and maybe Slovenia, Croatia and even Austria). 

But, hey I am getting ahead of myself. 

Stay tuned for more gastronomic, I mean catastrophic pictures!! And in the meanwhile, noi mangiamo and enjoy.

We were fortunate enough to find ourselves in the midst of a beautiful wedding party right downtown this morning, before the first deluge of rain and thunder struck.
