September Day in Trieste & Muggia

Beautiful day on the water!

We spent the day wandering downtown in Trieste and than journeyed on a small ferry over to another district called Muggia (a 30 minute ride each way). 

You may ask where have all the people gone...

Most people who live here have it right - it's siesta time from about 1:00 until sometimes as late as 5:00.  Rain or shine, tourist season or not, most of the shops and even some of the cafes are closed. 

Hence, we had the streets to ourselves in several of the pictures. Everybody else - zzzzzzzz.
