A Sneak into Slovenia
Crossing the border...
We decided to venture into new territory today - a short 20 minute train ride dropped us off in a very small town called Divaca (pronounced 'devasha'). It was quite literally a 2-horse town with just a few little cafes and some homes.
So, we jumped back on the Slovenian train and rode to Sezana, which was just about 10 minutes away and according to our conductor, was nearly 10 times larger than Divaca.
Here we managed to find a lovely restaurant, enjoyed a delicious lunch and explored the town.
Slovenia is definitely less vibrant and colourful than Italy, although I know the house below begs to differ! But there is just a different vibe, and the people are much more subdued.
Trieste on the other hand is pretty alive, lots of people and apparently it is one of the best regions in Italy, economically. Lots of business people in the downtown area and evidence of lots of wealth $$. They consider themselves like an island separate from the rest of Italy.
Ciao Ciao for now!
