Introducing Sweet Desenzano Del Garde

This is the front of the B&B we stayed at in Desenzano Del Garde.

We first came and stayed here in 2012 and loved both the town and the B&B so much we thought we would come back. Carla is an older Italian woman who lives in the bottom of the house; she and her daughter, Silvia run the business together. Carla does not speak any English, so there is lots of hand gestures and nodding amongst us! However, there is no translation needed for the yummy smells of Carla's fresh baked breakfast cakes every morning.

Desenzano is one of the larger towns that surround Lake Garda, which is the biggest lake in Italy and a very popular holiday destination for both natives and tourists. It is also a very central location for getting to Venice, Verona, and Milan - either by car or in our case, le treno. Desenzano is a perfect blend of Italy and influences from Austria - need I say any more. The town reflects the fact that there is wealth in the residents and it is very clean and well cared for.

See even the ducks are stylish over here with his beautiful red beak - hope it has nothing to do with too much rosso ala cassa (red house wine).

Oops, caught in the act!

Most certainly cannot forget the illustrious photographer - obviously on a "coffee break" here - one of many I might add. Not complaining, of course! He is standing in front of the jasmine wall - it grows rampant in many of the towns and cities at this time of year and the fragrance is absolutely unbelievable.
