Hot and happy in Italy
We landed in Florence around noon today, hopped a shuttle bus to the downtown Firenze train station and even managed to catch the right train to Prato, which was another 35 minutes north.
This was nothing short of a miracle considering we used a self-serve machine to buy the ticket, and there was nothing on the ticket to match or identify in any way whatsoever with what the train departures screen listed as destination points. We have learned before that you have to know where the train's final resting point is, rather than your stop. And, it doesn't make any difference whether you have mastered your "scuzies, prego, ciao, gracie, or bene" when there are no attendants around to ask and you have 2 minutes to get on the train or not...
But there I am creating a mountain out of a moal hill... We made out just fine and arrived into smoking hot Prato at 33 Celsius. I see why it is wise to be religious in Italy as I thanked the Lord for the air conditioning in our room!!
Now, I think there may have been some concerns about the health and welfare of one certain photographer, namely because of the lack of food-related photos. Let me put those concerns to rest. As you can see, we are happy and well - and rather full tonight as I write this post. The heat seems to have added to our appetites although I know that is a contradiction.
Allora! Bon appetite and ciao for now!
